Namaz E Janaza also termed as salaah tul janaza, zanaza, or funeral prayer is a prayer that muslims offer to seek forgiveness for the dead person. Janaza Prayer Dua

When you attend the janaza, then must pray for the deceased person and offer janaza dua or other Muslim duas of forgiveness. The most important janaza prayer dua along with English translation is given below: 

Dua 

اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِحَيِّنَا وَمَيِّتِنَا وَشَاهِدِنَا وَغَائِبِنَا وَصَغِيرِنَا وَكَبِيرِنَا وَذَكَرِنَا وَأُنْثَانَا اللَّهُمَّ مَنْ أَحْيَيْتَهُ مِنَّا فَأَحْيِهِ عَلَى الإِسْلاَمِ وَمَنْ تَوَفَّيْتَهُ مِنَّا فَتَوَفَّهُ عَلَى الإِيمَانِ اللَّهُمَّ لاَ تَحْرِمْنَا أَجْرَهُ وَلاَ تُضِلَّنَا بَعْدَهُ ‏.اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَيْهِ وَاغْفِرْ لَهُ وَارْحَمْهُ وَعَافِهِ وَاعْفُ عَنْهُ وَاغْسِلْهُ بِمَاءٍ وَثَلْجٍ وَبَرَدٍ وَنَقِّهِ مِنَ الذُّنُوبِ وَالْخَطَايَا كَمَا يُنَقَّى الثَّوْبُ الأَبْيَضُ مِنَ الدَّنَسِ وَأَبْدِلْهُ بِدَارِهِ
دَارًا خَيْرًا مِنْ دَارِهِ وَأَهْلاً خَيْرًا مِنْ أَهْلِهِ وَقِهِ فِتْنَةَ الْقَبْرِ وَعَذَابَ النَّارِ.

Translation
“O Allah, forgive our existence and our deceased, those who are present among us and those who are lost, our junior and our aged, our males and females,” O Allah, Keep alive in Islam whoever you keep alive from among us, and whoever You kill, kill him in faith., O Allah, pardon him, show leniency toward him; keep him free from all harm; excuse him; regard his rest; make his way simpler; give him water, snow, and hail, and purge him of transgression as a white piece of clothing is purified of soil. O Allah, Give him a house that is superior to his home and a family that is superior to his family. 

Janaza Prayer Method

There are some rules and methods that Muslims should follow while offering the Janaza prayer. Let’s see the method of Janazah prayer in detail:

  • Make an intention for the Janaza prayer and stand like an obligatory prayer.
  • Say takbeer by raising both your hands up.
  • Now place your left hand on the belly and the right hand over it.
  • Recite surah Fatihah and say takbeer again.
  • Send Darood on Hazrat Muhammad SAW (last prophet of Allah) and perform the third takbeer.
  • Now recite the Janaza prayer dua and say the fourth takbeer.
  • After that, perform salam on both left and hand sides while standing.

  • A Muslim deceased person should be clean with ghusl and other living persons should recite surahs for the deceased forgiveness.
  • Women can give ghusl to women and men can give to men. 
  • Always remember to turn the deceased person towards the qiblah. 
  • Wait for a few hours so the person’s relatives, neighbors, and friends arrive for the janaza.
  • Offer the janaza prayer behind the imam and take the corpse to grieve.
  • Burry the corpse in to grieve and return home by reciting duas.
